In previous post Social Media Effects on SEO I briefly touched base on Google profile and this post is about the Google +1 button and Google PageRank. Similar to Facebook’s Like button the Google +1 button allows you to publicly approve an article or webpage you’ve visited. No need to bookmark your favourite articles in your browser, because all your Google +1 is saved onto a Google +1 tab in your Google profile, which can be accessed later from any device, not just on the device you bookmarked those articles, plus you can also share your Google +1 list with others on the web or you can choose to hide it.
What’s the implication of the Google +1 button on Google pagerank and search engine optimization (SEO) ? When users click the Google +1 button they are putting their stamp of approvals on the article just visited. Those Google +1 clicks send signals to Google that the articles have quality content that have been approved by other Google registered users, and so in theory should make them worthy of getting indexed well in Google search engine result page (SERP). Thus, if an article receive enough Google +1 votes it should likely improve in search result ranking or pagerank within Google.
Are you likely to sign up for a Google account and create a Google profile and link your blog or website back to your Google profile? Would you be tempted to implement Google profile and Google +1 if it meant improved Google pagerank and your site could perform well on Google searches? As you can see, I’ve created a Google profile and linked this website to it (click on Dean Chu below to navigate to my Google profile) and my Google profile is linking back to all pages of this website. I am curious to see positive changes or improvement in this blog’s search performance. Even if it doesn’t I see this as a good opportunity to learn something new about SEO and social media.
Hello! I just would like to offer a huge thumbs right up for the good info you may have here during this post. I will be coming back to your blog site for more rapidly.
